Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@myoptimallifeaz.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The Semaglutide program is priced at $329 per month and Tirzepatide at $599 per month (4 injections). Our fee structure remains consistent, whether you're just starting or already at the highest dosage level. Prioritizing your safety is our primary objective, and we are dedicated to helping you achieve your weight goals safely. In our view, ensuring your safety and success is paramount.

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are both medications used to aid in weight loss, but they belong to different classes of drugs and work through different mechanisms.

Semaglutide:

  • Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist.
  • It mimics the action of the hormone GLP-1, which is naturally produced in the body in response to food intake.
  • GLP-1 receptor agonists stimulate insulin secretion, inhibit glucagon secretion, slow gastric emptying, and increase feelings of fullness, leading to reduced food intake and weight loss.
  • Semaglutide is administered as a subcutaneous injection once weekly.
  • It has been approved for the treatment of obesity in adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater, or in those with a BMI of 27 or greater who have at least one weight-related comorbidity (such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, or dyslipidemia).

Tirzepatide:

  • Tirzepatide is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and GLP-1 receptor agonist.
  • It works by stimulating both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, resulting in enhanced insulin secretion, decreased glucagon secretion, slowed gastric emptying, and increased feelings of fullness.
  • This dual mechanism of action may potentially lead to greater weight loss compared to medications that target only the GLP-1 receptor.
  • Tirzepatide is also administered as a subcutaneous injection but with dosing frequency varying depending on the specific regimen being studied in clinical trials.
  • It is currently being investigated for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

In summary, both Semaglutide and Tirzepatide can promote weight loss through their effects on appetite regulation and metabolism, but Tirzepatide has the additional feature of targeting both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, which may offer potential advantages in terms of efficacy.

The amount of weight an individual can lose with Semaglutide (a GLP-1 receptor agonist) or Tirzepatide (GLP-1/GIP) can vary from person to person. Clinical studies have shown that these medications can lead to significant weight loss in some individuals up to 20%+ of their body weight. In trials specifically focused on weight management, participants using Semaglutide experienced greater weight loss compared to those using a placebo.

The degree of weight loss is influenced by factors such as the individual's starting weight, adherence to the prescribed dosage, lifestyle changes, and overall health. It's essential to note that Semaglutide and Tirzepatide is typically prescribed as part of a comprehensive weight loss program that includes a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Semaglutide stands as a clinically-tested medication that is free from stimulants and non-habit forming. In a recent clinical trial, less than 5% of individuals stopped using GLP-1 medications due to side effects. Nausea, the most frequent side effect, generally resolves within the initial weeks of medication usage. Our compounded semaglutide includes a blend with vitamin B12, which contributes to managing these side effects effectively.

Our patients receive weekly check-ups. During each visit, we administer your semaglutide shot and any additional vitamin shots. We closely monitor and track your weight loss progress, including BMI, and review body composition measurements. This comprehensive approach provides a holistic understanding of weight loss, acknowledging that success isn't solely measured in pounds but could also involve inches lost around the waist. Our dashboard keeps you informed about your progress every week.

"Non-Scale Victories" are positive achievements and improvements in health, fitness, or well-being that are not directly related to the number on a scale. These victories can include improvements in mood, increased energy levels, better sleep, enhanced fitness performance, clothing fitting better, or changes in body composition, such as increased muscle mass or reduced inches around the waist. Non-scale victories are significant because they recognize the various positive changes that may occur during a health or fitness journey beyond just the numerical measurement of weight.  EXAMPLE:  Crossing your legs, tying your shoes, getting into that evening gown or not having to lasso your foot to put on a sock!

We're thrilled that you're considering embarking on your weight loss journey with us. Given that our program is medically supervised, here's a step-by-step guide to getting started:

Step 1 - Free Consultation: Schedule a consultation with us. Chris, our Registered Nurse, will guide you through the program and address all your queries. If you're ready to proceed, we'll provide clinic paperwork for you to complete, and you'll need recent blood work from within the last year. Once you have that, we move on to Step 2 - Practitioner Assessment, which can be scheduled via telehealth.

Step 2 - Practitioner Assessment: During this session, our practitioner will review your blood work and paperwork. If you are cleared to begin the program, you can schedule your first injection at our clinic. This can also be done via telehealth.

Step 3 - Program Start: Schedule your visit to our clinic for your first injection. During this initial appointment, we will administer your injection, along with a vitamin injection if you choose. We'll also record your weight, goal weight, and body measurements. Subsequently, you'll be scheduled for your follow-up weekly injections. It's as easy as that!
